Project Context

The coconut water market is in a state of constant growth, yet it lacks options that cater to the needs of the most demanding premium hospitality segment. The key challenge was how to shape a product, recognized primarily for its natural hydration and health benefits, into a brand that becomes an integral part of the overall service experience and the ambiance in which it is consumed.

The goal was to create a brand that does not compete within the functional beverage category. Instead, through its quality, aesthetics and exclusivity, it was designed to fit naturally into high-standard environments such as prestigious hotels, beach clubs and private jet cabins across target markets in the Gulf region and Western Europe.

We created an identity that shifts coconut water from the domain of a healthy product into the realm of a refined refreshment ritual, tailored for a clientele that expects a high standard of design, quality and alignment with premium surroundings. The core idea was that Santai should not merely communicate the function of a beverage, but the context in which it is consumed.

For the brand, we devised the name Santai, inspired by the Indonesian expression signifying peace, relaxation and a philosophy of living in balance with nature.

We achieved strategic distinction through the conscious elimination of tropical clichés (such as coconut illustrations and vibrant colors). Instead, the logo communicates purity through an abstract leaf form integrated within the letter A, appealing to a visually sophisticated clientele that recognizes minimalism as a symbol of quality. We designed a visual identity based on a deep navy blue foundation, a white logo and silver accents, utilizing precise typography and a clean composition. This visual identity is more akin to luxury lifestyle brands than the traditional FMCG category. Santai possesses the visual strength that allows it to hold its own in exclusive environments.

Santai is a brand that transcends the function of a beverage and becomes part of a carefully curated ambiance, from private jet cabins and golf courses to luxury resorts and wellness destinations. Here, design served as a direct tool for market positioning. This identity and clear differentiation provided the brand with the credibility and momentum needed for a rapid entry into negotiations with leading global hotel chains.
